More DMCA madness: DirecTV has cracked down on people who have purchased smart card programming devices, sending threatening letters under the assumption that they are pirating satellite TV. Many purchasers of these devices are electronics hobbyists who dabble in authentication and security technologies, and had no intention of stealing DirecTV programming.

This is going to get worse before it gets better.
